Meet The Sponsor: Made in the Maritimes

When it comes to shopping local in Halifax, Made in the Maritimes Artisan Boutique has become something of a household name. Since opening their doors in 2015, they have supported so many makers in our community, and throughout the Maritime provinces. As they’ve grown and expanded over the past several years, they also carry a curated collection of Canadian Made products, giving you so much quality, variety and beauty to choose from.

You can visit Made in the Maritimes on Young Street in the Hydrostone Market, or in their newly expanded store on Chain Lake Drive in Bayer’s Lake. If leaving your comfy couch is tough this time of year, they also have an extensive online shop that is frequently updated and easy to navigate, so you can keep supporting your favorite small businesses from the comfort of your home. We love this because not only does Made in the Martimes support so many of our crafters by selling their beautiful products in shop, artisans also get amazing exposure through MIM’s online following, almost 42,000 between Facebook and Instagram!

No matter which location, or how you choose to shop, the variety is undeniable. Owners Joel Kelly and Mark Smith work hard to curate a high quality environment with something for everyone. Their beautiful collection includes pottery, textiles and fine art, reproduction prints, cards, and gourmet edibles. There is woodwork, folk art, and jewellery, glass art, baby gifts and many other items. Every purchase you make, for yourselves or loved ones, helps support multiple small businesses and our local economy. Nothing gets us more in the spirit than shopping local, and we hope you feel the same!

Thank you Joel and Mark and the awesome team at Made in the Maritimes for your incredible and continued support over the years. We couldn’t do it without you. And to our HCS followers, We encourage you to visit them online, or in store at either location whenever you can, and make sure you come see all local has to offer at Halifax Crafters Society Winter Market, December 3, 4 and 5th at the Olympic Center in Halifax.
