Meet The Sponsor: Made in the Maritimes

Our next featured sponsor is none other than Made in the Maritimes Artisan Boutique. If you have been a supporter of Halifax Crafters for a while, you likely know this amazing business well. They have been sponsoring our organization since 2015, the same year they opened! Owners Joel Kelly and Mark Smith set out to feature a beautifully curated collection of the Maritimes finest handmade items and they have supported so many of our very own crafters over the years. We are truly grateful for the love they give our crafters, our community and our organization!

If you are one of the many who have made more of an effort to shop local over the past several years, there is a good chance you have visited one of their locations. They have shops on Young Street in the Hydrostone Market, and a new expanded store on Chain Lake Drive in Bayer’s Lake.

Each store has a unique vibe and both are well worth the visit! Both stores feature gorgeous collections of a bit of everything that the maritimes has to offer! As they’ve grown and expanded, they have come to include a range of “Canadian Made” products as well, giving customers even more variety and choice. Whether you are looking for fine art, folk art, ceramics, jewelry, culinary items, bath and beauty, or textiles, you’ll find something that makes the perfect purchase for yourself or ones you love.

You can visit Made in the Maritimes online too. Their online shop is frequently updated and easy to navigate, so you can keep supporting your favorite small businesses from the comfort of your home. We love this because not only does Made in the Maritimes support so many of our crafters by selling their beautiful products in store, but artisans also get amazing exposure through MIM’s online following, almost 40,000 between Facebook and Instagram! Make sure to visit them at www.madeinthemaritimes.com and on socials at @made_in_the_maritimes.

Thank you to Joel and Mark and the whole team at Made in the Maritimes for your incredible and continued support over the years. We couldn’t do it without you. And to our HCS followers, We encourage you to visit them online, or in store at either location whenever you can, and make sure you come see all local has to offer at Halifax Crafters Society Spring Show at our new location, Lighthouse Arts Centre on May 28 and 29th. Hurray for shopping local!
